So what if you could go to a place where you had your pick of any ‘honey’ you liked and could do just about anything you wanted to each other. Sounds like a good time right? Well, in Honey Select 2: Libido, this becomes your new reality.
This game plays rather like Fashion Business or Slaves of Rome due to the ability to create characters and control them throughout your adventure. You’ll have every opportunity to mould your honey to your liking and be able to do anything that your heart desires.
Confused Visuals
When it comes to H games, there are really to artistic avenues to take. You can either go for the super-realism route or you can go for the more anime oriented style. Both have their place within the community and can lend themselves well to these games. This title seems to flirt with both ideas but never really pick a side, leading to a weird mesh of the two camps that really doesn’t work at all.
The character models are off-putting as a result of this and it can lead to moments where you are taken out of the action. The game would have benefited from a clear understanding of what it was trying to achieve visually and as a result, it’s a low point for this title.
Interesting Gameplay
The game may give the impression that it will just be a simple point and click style romp, however, it offers much more nuanced than that. The game has a detailed character creation station to ensure players make the ideal ‘honey’ which suits their preferences. The game also has a sex minigame that includes various actions that will increase and decrease the ‘honey’s’ disposition toward you. Then you also have an item system that will allow you to use aphrodisiacs and the like to influence these scenarios in your favour. The game does an excellent job in this respect and sets itself apart from titles that rely on looks and dialogue to get by.
There are also some interesting assets that can only be accessed in Japan which relate to an online card trading facility. This is a great inclusion but for the vast majority of players, this will be something that you will ultimately miss out on, which is a little frustrating.

Overall, Honey Select 2: Libido does a lot of things right. It offers a wide variety of customization options for players to design their honey, it features well-designed sex scene gameplay with an item system to shake things up. Plus, the UI is intuitive and accessible to all.
However, the visuals, the lack of storyline and the forgettable sound quality let the game down and stop it from being a memorable addition to the adult gaming library.
